The short way to totality
White Desert Solar Eclipse Tour: Overview
In short: this White Desert solar eclipse tour takes you from Cairo or Giza into the Western Desert for one night at our air-conditioned eclipse camp, then gives you the six minutes of darkness on 2 August 2027. Two days, one fixed price per person, and every ticket and permit already paid.
We are a family from Bahariya Oasis, and this desert is where we grew up. When you travel with us you are not a booking number, you are our guest. On the first afternoon we drive you in a 4×4 across the Black Desert, stop at the warm sulfur spring of El Hez, let the quartz of Crystal Mountain catch the light and walk the sculpted rocks of Agabat Valley and Moon Cave.
By sunset you reach the camp, set inside the path of totality in the zone between the White Desert and the Black Desert. Dinner is Bedouin style, tea is brewed slowly on the coals and the stars come out the way they only do far from any city. Your tent is cooled, your bed is ready and the sky is right outside the door.
On eclipse morning there is time for breakfast, coffee and setting up your camera. Then the light turns strange, the air cools, the desert goes quiet and the Sun disappears. After totality we celebrate, visit Mushroom Rock and Chicken Rock in the White Desert, have lunch in Bahariya and drive you back to Cairo or Giza the same evening.
